Liz Maynard has served since 1992 as Regional Extension Specialist for Commercial Vegetable and Floriculture Crops in the Dept. of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of Purdue's College of Agriculture. Prior to coming to Purdue, she completed graduate school at Cornell University. Liz is housed at Purdue's North Central Campus in LaPorte County. She is on the organizing committee for the Indiana Horticulture Congress and the Illiana Vegetable Growers' School, and regularly speaks about vegetable production at those and other Extension programs. She conducts vegetable variety evaluations and other trials at the Pinney-Purdue Ag Center in Northern Indiana, with the greatest emphasis on sweet corn, pumpkins, and tomatoes. Liz works closely with the Indiana Vegetable Growers' Association (www.ivga.org), acting as secretary/treasurer since the mid 1990s. Liz is also involved in education and research about organic production. Michael J. Groff is a 1979 Graduate of Purdue University where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Agronomy. Mike earned his Certified Professional Agronomist standing in 1985. Mike started his Crop Consulting business in 1978 and has pursed his dream of being self-employed. Cropwatch scouts and consults on over 70,000 acre of Seed Corn production in the states of Indiana, and Michigan for several different seed companies. Cropwatch employees thee full time Agronomist Dan Schaller, Matt Grady and Marc Eads. Cropwatch also, hires 25 summer interns to scout seed corn and commercial row crops in the growing season. Mike and his wife Rose have three children. Jared whom is employed at ADM in Toledo, Ohio as a grain buyer. Joel is a senior at Grace College. Jessica is a freshman at Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas. Mike and Matt Grady co-own a Beef cowherd in Northern Indiana; where they raise shoe steers and heifers along with sell farm fresh Beef.
